Located in the town of Santa Margarida i els Monjos in Catalonia, the plant came into service in 1902. It has its own quarry, two mobile crushers (600 tonnes/hour each), 3 rawmix mills, 1 coal mill, three clinker production lines with a capacity of 5,800 tonnes/day, 3 cement mills and 2 bagging lines.
The plant recently supplied cement for top-level projects such as the AVE high-speed railway stations in Sagrera (Barcelona) and Girona, the Segarra-Garrigues canal, and Barcelona Metro line 9.
Cement production capacity (tonnes/year): 1.800.000.
High-strength CEM I type portland cement, with high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) and high initial strength R and improved Landfort strength.
This very high strength cement provides considerably above-standard compression strength at all ages. It is eminently suited for pre-cast and pre-stressed applications.
Designed specifically for concrete and pre-stressed products where very high strength is required, mainly at the early stages.
Portland cement type CEM I, high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.
An essential cement for making high-strength concrete, very appropriate for industrial production of high-strength precast components.
Its high performance makes it particularly suitable for pre-stressed concrete, which is widely used in special structures such as pre-stressed concrete bridges.
Portland cement type CEM I, medium-high strength (42.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.
High initial strength makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, when fast hardening is required.
As a CEM I type cement, it is ideal for precast and pre-stressed applications, providing a high degree of strength.
Portland cement type CEM I, high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) with normal initial strength N and sulphate resistance /SR. A high-performance cement used to make high-strength concrete, very appropriate for industrial production of high-strength precast components that will be in contact with sulphate-bearing terrain or waters or for marine environments. It is appropriate for foundations in gypsiferous terrain and/or areas adjoining the sea.
Portland cement type I, medium-high strength (42.5 MPa at 28 days) with normal initial strength N and sulphate resistance /SR. Its specifications makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, that will be exposed to aggressive environments (sulphates and/or sea water). As a CEM I type cement, it is ideal for precast and pre-stressed applications, providing a high degree of strength. In addition to its strength, its low tricalcium aluminate content makes it resistant to sulphates and sea water. The low alkali content makes this cement suitable for concrete with potentially reactive aggregate.
Limestone portland cement, clinker low-end, type CEM II / BL 32.5 MPa medium strength at 28 days with normal initial resistance N. Because of its composition and strength class, usually used in ready-mixed concrete plants for the manufacture of mass concrete, self compacting concrete mortar stabilized. It is also used in the preparation of mortar type I portland albañilería.Cemento medium strength-high 42.5 MPa at 28 days with normal N initial resistance and resistance to sulfate / SR.
Its features make it particularly suitable for the manufacture of concrete, reinforced both mass and subjected to harsh environments by the presence of sulfate and / or seawater.
As belonging to cement CEM I, is ideal for the production of precast and prestressed, obtaining high resistance values¿¿. Besides resistance, another feature is its low content of tricalcium aluminate which makes it resistant to sulfate and seawater.
His low-alkali cement makes it more suitable for the production of concrete with potentially reactive aggregates.
