El Alto

The "Al Alto" plant, located in the town of Morata de Tajuña, Madrid, came into operation in 1972 as an extension of the Vicálvaro plant, which had been operating since the beginning of the 20th century and has since been dismantled.

The factory has its own limestone quarry, a crusher with capacity of up to 1,500 tonnes/hour, two grey cement production lines with capacity of 3,500 tonnes/day each, and white cement line with a capacity of 1,000 tonnes/day. Each line has its own cement milling and bagging facilities.

In recent years, it has supplied cement to landmark projects such as the Museum of the Royal Collections in Madrid, Barajas and Ciudad Real airports, and the Third Millennium Bridge in Zaragoza.

  • Cement production capacity (tonnes/year):
    • Grey: 2.550.000.
    • White: 350.000.

Products

EN 197-1 CEM I 52,5 R. AVAILABLE IN BULK

Portland cement type CEM I high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.

An essential cement for making high-strength concrete, very appropriate for industrial production of high-strength precast components.

Its high performance makes it particularly suitable for pre-stressed concrete, which is widely used in special structures such as pre-stressed concrete bridges.

EN 197-1 CEM I 42,5 R. AVAILABLE IN BULK

Portland cement type CEM I medium-high strength (42.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.

High initial strength makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, when fast hardening is required.

As a CEM I type cement, it is ideal for precast and pre-stressed applications, providing a high degree of strength.

EN 197-1 CEM II/A-L 42,5 R. AVAILABLE IN BULK

High-clinker portland cement with limestone, type CEM II/A-L medium-high strength (42.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.

High initial strength makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, when the project calls for rapid removal of formwork.

This cement can be used for concrete requiring high mechanical specifications, and can also be used for light precast components, architectural components where the concrete is visible, and premixed mortars.

EN 197-1 CEM II/B-L 32,5 N. BULK AND BAGS AVAILABLE

Low-clinker Portland cement with limestone, type CEM II/B-L medium strength (32.5 MPa at 28 days) with normal initial strength N.

Because of its composition and strength class, this cement is generally used in readymix batching plants for bulk concrete, stabilised mortar and self-compacting concrete. Also used for bricklaying mortar.

I 52,5 N/SR UNE 80303-1. BULK AND BAGS AVAILABLE

Portland cement type I high strength 52.5 MPa at 28 days with normal initial strength N and sulphate resistant /SR.

A high-performance cement used to make high-strength concrete, very appropriate for industrial production of high-strength precast components that will be in contact with sulphate-bearing terrain or waters or for marine environments.

It is appropriate for foundations in gypsiferous terrain and/or areas adjoining the sea.

BL I 52,5 R UNE 80305. BULK AND BAGS AVAILABLE

White portland cement type BL I high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.

A high-performance cement used to make high-strength concrete for visible or decorative applications, very appropriate for industrial production of precast structural components that will require the highest strength and a white or paler-than-normal finish.

Its high specifications make it particularly suitable for pre-stressed concrete in applications calling for white or other colours.

BL II/A-L 42,5 R UNE 80305. BULK AND BAGS AVAILABLE

High-clinker white Portland cement with limestone, type BL II/A-L medium-high strength 42.5 MPa at 28 days with high initial strength R.

This cement is used mainly in manufacturing terrazzo and all types of ornamental precast components for non-structural applications.

Used also in medium-high strength white mortar.

BL II/B-L 32,5 N UNE 80305. BULK AND BAGS AVAILABLE

White portland cement, limestone, clinker low-end, BL II / BL 32.5 MPa medium strength at 28 days with normal initial resistance N.

Because of its composition and strength class, usually used in ready-mixed concrete plants for use in armed concrete mass when the mechanical load or start are not too demanding and you want white or colored finish.

Also used in the preparation of medium-strength white mortar.

EN 197-1 CEM IV B (V) 32,5 N (1) . AVAILABLE IN BULK

Low-clinker white Portland cement with limestone, type BL II/B-L medium strength (32.5 MPa at 28 days) with normal initial strength N.

Because of its composition and strength class, this cement is generally used in readymix batching plants for reinforced and bulk concrete in applications requiring low mechanical strength or load-bearing properties and a white or coloured finish.

Used also in medium strength white mortar.
