Located in Olazagutía, in the province of Navarra, this plant commenced operations in 1903. The plant has its own quarry, a crusher (1,200 tonnes/hour), two rawmix mills (100 and 110 tonnes/hour, respectively), and two clinker lines (1,480 and 1,530 tonnes/day, respectively), two cement mills and a bagging line.
It recently supplied cement to major projects such as: High-speed railway line, Enciso dam, and Navarra Canal.
Cement production capacity (tonnes/year): 1.055.000.
Portland cement type CEM I, high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) with high early strength R.
An essential cement for producing high-strength concrete; very appropriate for industrial production of precast structural components requiring the highest strength.
Its high performance makes it particularly suitable for prestressed concrete and it is widely used in special civil engineering projects, such as prestressed concrete bridges.
High-strength CEM I type portland cement (52.5 MPa at 28 days), with high initial strength R and a maximum SO3 content of 3.4% (1).
This cement has been approved by ADIF because of its low alkali and SO3 content, making it ideal for general and high-speed railway sleepers.
Apart from its special features, it is suitable for making high-strength cement and is essential for producing high-strength concrete; very appropriate for industrial production of precast structural components requiring the highest strength.
Portland cement type CEM I, high strength (52.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R and enhanced strength.
This high-strength cement provides compressive strength well above the standard at all stages. As a result it is very appropriate for precast and prestressed concrete.
Specifically designed to produce concrete and precast concrete items requiring the highest strength, particularly in the early stages.
High-clinker portland cement with limestone, type CEM II/A-L, medium-high strength (42.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R.
High initial strength makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, when the project calls for rapid removal of formwork.
This cement can be used for concrete requiring high mechanical specifications, and can also be used for light precast components, architectural components where the concrete is visible, and premixed mortars.
High-clinker blended portland cement, type CEM II/A-M with fly ash and limestone (V-L), medium-high strength (42.5 MPa after 28 days), with high initial strength R.
High initial strength makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, when fast hardening is required.
The fly ash content makes this cement more workable when used in concrete or mortar.
Pozzolanic cement, type CEM IV, with fly ash (V), medium strength (32.5 MPa at 28 days) with normal initial strength N.
Strongly recommended for reinforced or bulk concrete, especially in moderately aggressive environments, waterworks and concrete with reactive aggregate. Widely used in roads, for soil stabilisation, soil cement, and filler.
Its moderate hydration heat makes it suitable for large volumes of concrete.
Portland cement type I, medium-high strength (42.5 MPa at 28 days) with high initial strength R and sulphate resistance /SR.
High initial strength makes it particularly suited for concrete, both bulk and reinforced, when fast curing is required together with resistance to sulphates or sea water.
As a CEM I type cement, it is ideal for precast and pre-stressed applications, providing a high degree of strength. In addition to its strength, its low tricalcium aluminate content makes it resistant to sulphates and sea water, so it is appropriate for concrete that is in contact with sulphate-bearing waters or terrain or which will be used in marine environments.
