Product range: Spray mortar

Valsec Proyect Exterior

Spray mortar for outdoor applications.

Sprayable water-resistant mortar for parging and coating.

Type GP W1 CSIII (UNE EN 998-1).

Scope of application

Normal usage in construction: concrete blocks, ceramic bricks, and parging. Recommended for outdoor use..

Supply conditions

Bagged (25 kg. bags) Bulk (gravity-feed or pressurised silo on site).

White and Grey.

Mixing instructions

Mix the mortar with clean water, starting with 15% and adjusting to obtain the required consistency, depending on the spray gun, hose cross-section and length, and weather conditions. When preparing the mortar, use the same amount of water and mixing time for the entire process.

Maximum mixing time before application is 35 minutes, depending on weather conditions. Do not use any admixtures without authorisation from the manufacturer. The mortar may also be mixed by hand.

Mixing instructions

Substrates must fulfil the following conditions:

  • They must be strong, clean and stable.
  • Do not use on water-repellent substrates or on substrates with plaster, paint or plastic coating.
  • In the case of irregular or uneven walls, a mortar levelling course must be applied first.
  • It is advisable to roughen surfaces which are too smooth or not very porous.
  • On very smooth surfaces, an adherence layer is recommended consisting of a fine layer of mortar mixed with a cement-compatible acrylic emulsion.
  • The substrate should not be excessively dry or waterlogged. In warm weather, dampen the wall before application; spray with clean water on the following day.
  • Use alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh as a bridge between different substrates. The mesh must overlap at least 20 cm on each side of the joint.

Mortar made from cement, graded aggregate, lime, and organic and inorganic additives.

Instructions for application

Spray on in layers of 10-20 mm. For thicker layers coats, apply in successive 15 mm layers. Never apply more than 40 mm. Use a level or trowel to smooth the surface and correct irregularities.

Respect expansion joints and treat them appropriately. It is recommended to divide the application surface into smaller areas for spraying. Apply the desired finish once the mortar has hardened.

Do not use if there is a risk of rain or frost. Work at temperatures between 5ºC and 35ºC. In dry or warm weather, dampen the mortar 24 hours after application.
