Valsec Autonivel 5

Self-levelling mortar for thick layers.

Self-levelling mortar for application in thick layers (3-10 cm).

Type CT C16 F7 A22 (UNE EN 13813).

Scope of application

Indoor applications. Flooring mortar, for application on slab, radiant floors, acoustic or thermal insulation. Suitable as a base for laying tiles, stone, wood, parquet, carpet, linoleum, etc.

Supply conditions

Bagged (25 kg. bags)

Mixing instructions

The mix can be prepared manually or mechanically. Mix the mortar with clean water (approximately 12-13%) to obtain a smooth paste with the required consistency. Use the same water proportion and mixing time throughout a given application.

The consistency should enable the paste to flow smoothly. Too much water may lead the paste to disaggregate. Do not use any admixtures without authorisation from the manufacturer. Maximum mixing time before application is 35 minutes, depending on weather conditions.

Substrate preparation

The substrate to be levelled must fulfil the following conditions:

  • They must be strong, clean and stable. There should not be any residues of gypsum, paint, waterproof coatings, etc.
  • Respect structural joints. Create expansion joints every 20 linear metres or every 100 m2 of surface.
  • Polyurethane foam sheet should be placed along skirting boards, pillars and/or any structural element in order to absorb any expansion and contraction.
  • If applied over underfloor heating, the heating pipes should be lagged.
  • Plastic or Kraft paper sheets should be laid over the entire surface of the substrate, and joined with adhesive tape or heat.

Mortar made from cement, aggregate, organic and inorganic admixtures, which provide high self-levelling capacity.

Instructions for application

Before application, use laser levels or other means to mark the final level of the floor grout.

Pour the product on the floor and spread it with a float, spatula or similar tool to obtained the desired level and cover the desired area. Then dredge with a horizontal rule in 2 perpendicular directions to eliminate air from the mix. Do this before the mortar begins to harden (approximately 20 min.).

The layer should be 3-10 cm thick. If a thicker layer is required, apply in thinner layers, letting each layer dry before applying the next. Leave to dry for 24 hours before walking, and wait 7 days before placing loads on the surface.

To tile, first polish the self-levelling mortar surface to improve adhesion and apply tiles with VALCOL adhesive cement (see datasheets). Do not use if there is a risk of rain or frost. Work at temperatures between 5ºC and 35ºC.
